August boxycharm 2018

The theme this month was life of the party. I got variation #1, weighing at 0.18kg.
I understand why they wanted to do this theme because this is the middle of summer and they wanted to add colors. But neon colors and cuticle oil didn't make any sense to me. I was highly disappointed for this month. The products in the box either didn't apply to me or they didn't really go together.

1. Laura Lee Los Angeles Party Animal Palette - the 6 neon colors are too bright for me, especially when I work in the medical field and not a makeup artist. Boxycharm should get some colors that don't have all 6 neon colors screaming at you.
2. House of Lashes -I know they are a great brand but I just don't want lashes. I don't use them because my eyes are sensitive.
3. Adesse Cuticle Oil - no comment. What are you suppose to do with cuticle oil if you don't do your nails much or at all.
4. Bang Beauty Chocolate Gel Eye Liner - I do like gel eyeliners but I prefer the pencil form and not pot form but I can probably use this for a brow liner too.
5. Smashbox Be legendary Triple Tone Lipstick in shade Berry Ombre - I was going to buy these last month when I saw them in stores, but I decided to wait, glad I did.
6. Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask - nice airplane goodies.

Overall, 3 out of 6 will be used and the other three will be given away.

July boxycharm 2018

The theme for the July Boxycharm 2018 was Roadtrippin.
I love the theme because it's the summertime and everyone tries to go out and travel but of course with minimal makeup and skincare. I agree that I have done that. I usually just bring cleanser and sunscreen because who has the time to put on layer after layer when you are trying to enjoy the outdoors. Anyway there were two different variable of boxes and I got the most common one. 

1. Crown Brush Fuego Eyeshadow Collection - I wasn't excited about this one because I'm allergic to eyeshadow so I was looking forward to the tarte mist. But the warm tone colors look nice and pigmented. #crownroute
2. Dr. Brandt No more Baggage - I love the skincare products in the boxycharm, I look forward to more. Anything for the eyes, especially gels are welcome. #Drbrandtroute
3. Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara - love that boxycharm has expand its brands but I can't use mascara. So sad. #wanderroute
4. Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher in shade desert rose- It's a nice warm toned pink color, but I don't think I will be able to use this because I have alot of face palettes so I will pass this to a friend. #noteroute
5. Chella Beauty Eyebrow Cream - excited for eye brow products because I'm slowing learning to pay attention to my brows. I love the pigment and how it easily goes on my brows. This is my favorite brow product so far. #chellaroute

May Boxycharm wasn't that exciting to me. It just look like the essential makeup stuff. I was disappointed to not see a "skincare" product. I'm sorry but primers don't really count.

This month is the start of spring weather in my area and boxycharm theme is #EyeCandy

• Coloupop My Little Pony Eyeshadow Palette - I'm happy that I didn't buy the Colourpop My Little Pony palette because I was debating if I will be able to use the colors, but BoxyCharm surprised me with it!!!
• Adesse Hi definition liquid lipstick in haute cocoa - I think with this color, I will save until the coller temperatures to wear it. I prefer brighter colors in the spring and summer.
• Dr. Brandt - Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner - Im always happy with a skincare product in every box. I prefer a skincare item verses all 5 makeup products. Look forward to future skincare items.
• The BrowGal - Instatint - Tinted Eyebrow Gel - I started getting into doing my brows this year so I will look forward in playing around with this.
• Tarte - Tartiest Pro Glow: Liquid Highlighter - I don't really care for liquid highlighter, I just prefer powder highlighters. But I saw our boxycharmers got the MAC lip balm as an alternative.

Boxycharm December 2017 review

December box came!

The theme was Glitz and Glam.

I saw a few youtube vloogers unboxing and I wasn't happy with the products.

I can understand where every item in the box has something to do with "glitz" and "glam".

1. Real Her - Blush Kit - Time to throw out my blush from 2017 and I will use this in the beginning of 2018.
2. Crown Brush - Deluxe Blush Brush - Thank you boxycharm for sending me a blush brush. I have been on the hunt for a good one for the past month.
3. Pretty Vulgar - My Lips are sealed lightweight liquid lipstick - This pretty packaging will be something that I will use in my purse in spring 2018.
4. Tarte - Tariest Lash Paint Mascara - I already own two unopened boxes and this will be my third. I don't use mascara because it irritates my eye.
5. Beaute Basics - Bronze Essentials - I don't know how to use bronzers so I have always avoided them. I guess I can give this on away.

Sweater Weather

1. CoverFX Illuminating Setting Spray - yes!! a setting spray. I just finished my Boscia and was looking for another one to try.
2. WinkyLux Kitten Palette - I couldn't wait so I opened it and tried a color before work. Love the blue.
3. Luxie Beauty - Quad Eye Travel Set - I'm happy that I will get to use new luxie brushes. 
4. Laqa&CO Cloud Lips - lippie!
5. KNC Beauty Collagen Lip Masks - one of the reasons that I left my other subscription boxes and subscribe to boxycharm was not to get any sheetmasks or lip masks. Disappointed. 

BoxyCharm October 2017 review

Happy Halloween!


This is my second box from boxy charm and the theme is "Spellbound" in celebration for Halloween!

1. Dr. Brandt - Poredermabrasion - I think it's great that they included a skincare product in this box and they should keep doing it!
2. Becca - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter - love it!
3. Tarte Tareist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint - my first tarte makeup product. Will review it in an upcoming review.
4. ncLA - "Nailed It" Tool Kit - came just in time.
5. Jonteblu - Lip Liner Pencil - a bit dry but it's ok.

Boxy Baddie

This is my first Boxycharm and I loved it!

1. PUR Cosmetics Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette - I have worn this everyday to work since I've got it. I love the shimmer colors. The pigmentation is amazing. 
2. MAC Cosmetics Eyebrow Pencil - With this product that I've got, I started to do my eyebrows and everyone has complimented me since.
3. Studio Makeup Luminous Loose Blush - I thought that I wouldn't like this, but the color is so beautiful on my light skin.
4. bareMinerals Perfecting Face Foundation Brush - I don't mind it but I rarely use foundation brushes because I love cushion foundations so much. But it's OK to not like 1 out of 6 products.
5. Briogeo Don't Despair Repair Hair Mask - I love this hair conditioner, I've used it before from a deluxe sample from Sephora but was too scared to buy the full sized product because of the price.
6. ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip - this would be my first colourPop product and my first satin lip product. I've never been able to buy my first colourpop item because I never felt the need, but now I can try it and see if the products are right for me.

Sephora Play August 2016

My second Sephora Play box just arrived and I think I will keep this subscription for a very long time.

This month theme is "The Eye Opener" which they focused on eye makeup and eye skincare.
Some people might like which others wouldn't.

1. Makeup Forever Artist Shadow in I-544 - my first makeup forever product. I never got around into using makeup forever, so I was excited for this nude pink color. Perfect for natural and casual looks.
2. Algenist Eye Renewal Balm - I'm going to be shopping for a new eye cream soon after I finish up my belif one. I have sensitive skin, so choosing an eye cream is a major miss or hit for me. These sample sized items are perfect to see what suits you or not.
3. Urban Decay Perversion mascara - Pergect for travelling and I heard that they are really good for volumizing your lashes.
4. Lancôme Energie de Vie Smoothing and Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer - another great travel sized cream.
5. Sephora Collection Countour Eye Penicil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Love Affair - Perfect plum color for the autumn. I have this Sephora line in another color and I like that this texture is very creamy and pigmented.
6. The perfume - Clean Reserve Warm Cotton

Birchbox July 2016

My first Birchbox subscription box just came in the mail. Looks like it was punched on the sides of the box but as long as the products inside are fine, then I am fine!

Avene Thermal Spring Water - perfect to placed in my travel makeup bag for my west coastal trip in October!

Balance Me Radiance Face mask - two- time use of mask.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle - another hair product that I can add to my newly pile of hair products that I brought from my Philly trip last month.

Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara - something that I can throw in my "give-away" to friends pile since I don't have much of eye lashes.

Supergoop! Daily Correct CC Cream SPF 35+ - Light/Medium - another thing that I can throw in my travel bag for a single use.

Overall, nothing to "wow" about. Now I can say that I have brought this box once and it didn't surprise me.

FabFitFun Welcome Box

It seems that JULY is subscription boxes to me.
I have ordered or subscription a lot of new boxes to try out - some being gems, some being disappointments.

I thought I was using the Welcome code for a regular quarter season box but instead came an "welcome Box".
I wasn't too happy so I cancelled my subscription because they are quite misleading.
For $25, I got stuff that I didn't want to use, but I will try to use because I don't like to waste products.
The only thing that interest me was the "eye serum", "hairspray" and the "jump rope".
I'm not sure when I will use either.
The eye serum is deluxe sample size that I will bring to my autumn trip to Taiwan, it will last me about a month so it's perfect for my month trip.
The Wren 14kt Gold-Dipped and Black Sapphire Necklace will be given away to someone.
The earbuds will come in handy when I'm in need for an emergency earphones.
The hair spray is self-explanation - I think I should start using hair products.
The jump rope - I have to start somewhere with that lol.
With the Zoya Nail Polish, I prefer the "avril" color because it is more of a spring/summer color as compared to the "carey" color that I got which I will use for the winter.
The Protein shake, my brother took when I opened my box, so I guess he likes that one.

It might be nice for some people but I will pass on this subscription.

Sephora Play July 2016

My First Sephora Play Box (July 2016) has arrived!!

The theme is "Effortless Summer"

I'm thinking natural looking makeup and skincare.

 

Some people might like these items and some may not.

On a scale of 1-5, my final is a 3.

Included in this box was:

1 - First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser - I don't like getting cleanser cause I have too many. Plus I'm not a fan of this brand because of some of the ingredients the company uses. But I will put this in my travel bag.

2 - Nest Fragrances - Citrine - It's a cute floral fruity scent up my aisle. Perfect for spring and summer.

3 - Ouai Wave Spray - If only I didn't buy the Sephora Favorites - Summer Hair Saviors (which I am enjoying). I will use this for my trip to Taiwan in October.

4 - Smashbox Photo Finish Primer - I don't use primer (gave it to my mom who loves primer)

5 - Benefit Cosmetics Dew the Hoola Soft Matte Liquid Bronzer - I have really light Asian skin so I don't even know where to begin using a bronzer. Will be giving this to a friend.

6 - BeautyBlender blotterazzi - perfect for summer when you are outside, but is it hygienic?

I do like the information pamphlet because it gives tips on how to use products if you are new to it. For improvement, I hope that they can curate samples based on your skin tone and type. Overall, if more than half of the samples are usable then it's good for me.

Maybe I should start piling up a "giveaway bag". Should I?
