I went from an easy, hurried, low-maintenance facial cleaning ritual to trying out the Asian 10 step skincare routine. Being raised in New York City has damaged and polluted my skin; I'm now repairing and focusing on anti-aging.
I want to buy and use products from a broad number of brands, I didn't just want to stick with one brand, I shopped around and compared all. I will try to write reviews each month, one which will be a list my skincare routine products, sharing my experiences on each product.

February Mask Maven 2016 Review + PROMO CODE

Beauteque February Mask Maven 2016 review

Beauteque's February Fabulous
Put Yourself First!

Shipped : February 10
Arrived : February 13

Use promo code "ILENE" for a special something (10% OFF) at checkout at beauteque.com and/or beauteque.com/subscriptions.

Every month there could be 9-11 masks in every bag which can range anything including sheet mask, hand mask, wash-off mask, eye mask, foot mask and etc. If you buy it per month or up to 3 months it is $15, $14 for 6 months or $13 for 12 months.

I brought it for a year to try it out.

This month's theme of "Put Yourself First" made me re-think on why haven't I paid attention to my skin earlier in life instead of waiting until my late twenties to start. My main focus this winter is moisture and healing and this month's mask maven does just the job.
  1. DeWyTree Honey Black Moist Mask - This is my favorite new winter mask. I am inspired to make a top 10 favorite winter mask for those that are in search for winter mask sheet. This has top number 1 for me!
  2. Somoon Ampoule Juice Animal Mask - Bear design was the only good thing about this mask. My skin (especially my eye area) felt really uncomfortable. You know that itchy burning feeling but has nothing to do with heat - yea, that is the feeling I had. This means that this mask isn't for people with sensitive skin. Plus it sorta stinks.
  3. Hanaka Snail and Black Pearl and Elasticity Mask - my favorite brand this year but I'm biased because I love Hanaka sheet masks!
  4. Hanaka Cactus + Hyaluronic Acid mask - ditto from the previous mask. Lots of moisture and who doesn't like to have a look of glow afterwards?
  5. Esfolio Honey Mask - I would have prefer the Nature Republic for diversity of brands but esfolio is ok. Just another sheet mask.
  6. Esfolio Green Tea Mask - no complains here cause I love green tea masks.
  7. Leaders Aquaringer Mask - I actually wanted one of the other two (pores scaling black aqua or the AC dressing mask) because I have tried this anti-aging related one twice.
  8. Mizon Enjoy Vital Up Time Calming Mask - I had high hopes for this one but the one thing that stuck out for me was the lovely floral scent.
  9. Ladykin Blueberry Wash Off Mask - I'm not a fan of this brand or wash off mask in general. I have previous tried the pear version and didn't really like it.

There were great ones and the not so great ones. I know which ones to avoid. Still searching for more kinds of sheet masks for the winter!

When I got the spoiler email, I was so excited, I saw pink roses!!!

The first thing that caught my attention was the red make-up bag. Just in time for Valentine's Day. Sadly, I didn't get the Skinfood Rose Essence Lip Balm to match with the shades of red and pink.
  1. Anskin Remodeling Powder Mask - it's a huge bag and the modeling activator solution is suppose to go in hand with this huge product. My only concern is that the activator bag doesn't have a seal so you can only mix it with the powder mask during your one usage. This is how the good marketing skills of Beauteque get you-haha. It makes you "want-to" purchase the modeling activator if you like it the first time. I still haven't used the modeling powder mask from the September 2015 BB bag because I'm a bit scared to use it because it might be messy. This huge amount of product which came in this month urges me to open those bags.
  2. Anskin Ultimate Solution Modeling Activator - just a booster add-on for the modeling powder mask.
  3. Scinic Honey/Banana Cleansing Foam (the skincare product) - I saw the past spoilers and was like I can wake up and wash my face with the scent of bananas and dream about breakfast! It did leave my skin moisturized. But to me, cleansers are cleansers-I usually don't rave about them much...But I do like Scinic products.
  4. Beauteque Exfoliating Brush (the tool product)- The tool product of this month bb bag came in pink-finally something pink. The white hairs on the brush are so fine and soft. It's really nice for sensitive skin, but to really clean pores-I beg to differ.
  5. Skinfood Avocado Lip Balm (the make-up product)- It was advertised as "style will vary" and I really wanted to try the SkinFood Rose Essence because it's winter and I wanted something moisturizing because of the word, "essence" and there is a bit of a pink tint to the rose version - Plus I really needed a lip balm so this was the only product I was looking forward to from this BB bag. The texture was a bit hard for the lips but it's a decent lip balm for the winter. I'm really happy about this product.
  6. Lador Sleeping Clinic Ampoule (the hair product) - behold the hair product!!! When I first saw the packaging, I thought it was a skincare product but then it say hair. I almost happily flipped my table. It's perfect for split ends. The ends of my hair which is usually dry and in need of moisture seems to really love this product. It also made my boring Asian hair a bit wavy when I woke up after having it in my hair the whole day. This entire "bottle" was done within 3 usages. I will buy more!
Overall, Great job Beauteque!

TonyMoly Tomatox, Banana Sleeping Pack, TonyMoly Ferment Snail Cream

Just reviewing 3 samples...

Not worth getting this TonyMoly Tomatox magic massage pack. I feel as if this is the second part of cleansing routine. If you let it sit during the 5-10 minutes, you feel sticky and want to immediately wash it off. No immediate change after a single use.

TonyMoly Banana Sleeping Pack REALLY SMELLS LIKE BANANAS! Pretty thick consistency. Reminds me of yellow taffy candy.

TonyMoly Ferment Snail Cream - gel-like cream. It firms and heals your skin as much as a single usage of sample can do. Absorbs quickly but I will pass on re-purchasing this.

Hera UV Mist Cushion

It's a multi-function sunblock foundation (sunblock, makeup base, and foundation) as all luxury brands Korean cushions are.
The only reason that I decided to buy this was because I really really loved the Hera ultra moisture cushion during the winter months. But I cannot say the same about the regular Hera UV Mist Cushion, maybe my thoughts will be different during the summer.

I got the N23 shade which was suppose to give me a natural, clear, dewy and shiny skin-which I didn't see on my skin. It oxides to a shade darker than the color you see the second you apply it to your face. It's a beautiful lavender case but that is the only thing that i liked about this product.

It wasn't dewy or glowy for me. Didn't have a cooling effect and it wasn't hydrated enough so maybe my cushion foundation either dried up or it was a defective one?? Is this more for women in their early 20s?

I used up the one in the case and will save the refill for the summer months to see if there is a difference.

Clio Waterproof Eyeliner #2 Brown

Clio Waterproof Eyeliner #2 Brown

I was scared at first because someone told me that hers dried out when she opened it when she got home from the store.

So I immediately opened mines, I really needed a brown eyeliner to use right away anyway.
I prefer brown colors on my "off" days when I'm down or just want to relax and not attend any activities or events.
It looks like and feels like a gel liner in a pencil form - loved it!
It twists up and down so you can figure out how much product you need for every use.
I prefer eyeliners over liner that are in brush form.
Color is well pigmented.
It glides on smoothly the first time on dry skin. It's a bit tricky to have it glide on easily afterwards.
I tried it with primer and it glides on smoothly, so use a foundation or primer afterwards.

It is a nice color, but it smudges a little (only a little) bit after 8 hours of wear.
I usually draw a thick line (2 lines thick because it is a bit thin for me), I have double eyelids so I might not see it. And 2 strokes is enough for a clean matte finish.
It is waterproof and you have to rub your eyes really really hard for the product to be erased from your eyes.

IOPE samples

IOPE Moisture Skin Soft Peeling Gel
Very nice peeling gel. I used this on a Saturday morning and was feeling lazy and didn't want to use cleanser to wash my face. I didn't have make-up on so this peeling gel could be used as a cleanser and peeling gel. Perfect for lazy people like me.

IOPE Whitegen Ampoule Essence Bioluminous
Why didn't I know about this essence before the winter months started. Essence with ampoule added are the best for the winter months when your skin needs moisture. I will definitely buy his next winter if it is still in stock.

IOPE Bio Eye Cream Youth Complete
This eye cream is perfect for the summertime. However, I used this light eye cream on my sensitive skin during the winter is it wasn't moisture enough.

UV Shield
Light and does the job of a sunscreen. Not sticky.

super vital cream BioIntensive
I really like this cream. It is light and has enough moisture.  My skin didn't product milia after use of this product so it is good for sensitive skin.
